“Power Packed Vocabulary Development”
Designed in mind to help your child retain and improve upon the skills already learned during their first 1-2 years of preschool. Many children loose critical language skills and fine motor skills during the summer months. Capitol City Speech Therapy would like to help your child maintain and improve upon their skills so they will be ready to start Kindergarten or Preschool in the Fall.
Even if your child did not attend preschool last year, this is an excellent preparatory class. The 3 week session will be loaded with ongoing opportunities to build:
*Vocabulary-Emphasis on expressing and utilizing: Nouns, Verbs, and Attributes
*Answer a variety of questions
*Social Skills necessary for greetings, turn taking and maintaining a conversation
A vocabulary checklist will be provided prior to the start of the summer session and then at the end of the summer session. The checklist will provide Parents/Caregivers the opportunity to identify words that their child does not have as well as identify words the child already has in their repertoire. A Daily Checklist will allow parents/caregivers to:
*Identify the vocabulary words that were introduced during each session
*Explore and practice the new vocabulary words at home for mastery
*Track vocabulary mastered or emerging by the end of the 3 weeks.

Classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9am-11:45am
